Most straight forward video I've ever seen on this subject. No filler. Just what I wanted. Thank you. 🙂

Hilariously, I don't think I've ever clicked 'like' because someone asked, but the way you asked and the fact that you don't usually do it inspired me to click it. While I'm here, your teaching style is pristine... the information is concise and delivered warmly and simply. I'm about to get started with Abelton (waiting on hardware) and have been so excited I binge your videos every day.

On one video, you mentioned paid courses you provide. I'll be buying one of those for sure. I admire your passion and generosity in making the awesome free information that you do. Thank you!

You don't need a audio interface if your not using a mic and real instrument. just a good laptop and studio headphones

if you dont care as much for portability with your computer, a good budget option in my opinion is the new mac mini m4. its super tiny, very powerful, and only $600. good of storage and ram

I LOVE THIS. I have never done this type of thing but I want to make music and I am so tired of thwarting myself by sabotage. I can do it. You eloquently relayed your years of knowledge to me and I heard every single word. Thank you.

most important studio upgrade i ever did was getting a mini split AC. super quiet, i can run it all day and work it's the greatest.

thank you for this video, you got my sub and like. You pretty much confirmed for me that I'm setup already with everything I need, even tho I can stand to upgrade, what I have works fine and is low budget friendly. Desk $130 on amazon, computer I bought for $600 open box brand new 2TB, sound card and mic and headphones that were $40 on amazon as a bundle, it honestly works really good, another bluetooth headphones set for backup $40, Fl Studio with plugins $100, big bluetooth bass speaker which was a free gift so I can hear the bass and lows that you can't hear on the headphones and a $80 external monitor im going to pick up today, I'm still building...this video helped alot. I need that Midi keyboard too, but that's on another paycheck. :)

Ethan, could you maybe cover the audio effects in ableton in an upcoming video, that would be really cool!

Dope vid bro..For anyone who is "in fear" about RAM, 16gb will do an amazing job if 64gb is out of budget. 1 fact about M chips is that they use both the processor alongside RAM, and other processes to theoretically balance out the workload to optimize performance. Like Ethan said, put that money into your gear/software. If you're a student you can get education discounts on most music software, including AutoTune, Waves, and ProTools. Hope this helps someone !

Question, is there any reason other than portability to prefer the MacBook over iMac? I’m trying to figure out which to get for recording and portability isn’t something I need

Ethan, I absolutely love your channel and the way you explain things is the only helpful channel I’ve found. Lately, I’ve been extremely discouraged. I am aiming to create dubstep/ melodic edm and I would love if you could make a video explaining how to create a track similar to those genres.

Man, you took a long road to get to where you are now and I appreciate that. As for us, this is just the beginning, and maybe a day will come when we will cooperate together, my brother. All the love from damned Africa. ❤
