You mentioned only comedies and not modern Russian movies, but Soviet. But I would prefer to mention also serious films: Sergei Eisenstein ("The Battleship Potemkin", "October", "Alexander Nevsky", "Ivan the Terrible"), Andrei Tarkovsky ("Ivan's Childhood", "Andrei Rublev", "Solyaris", "Stalker", "Mirror"), Andrei Konchalovsky ("Siberiade"), Sergei Bondarchuk ("The Fate of Man", "War and Peace", "They Fought for the Motherland"), Yuri Ozerov ("The Battle for Moscow", "Stalingrad" (1989), "Liberation" (all series), "Soldiers of Freedom"), "Quiet Flows the Don" (1957), "The Cranes Are Flying", "The Soldier's Father", "The House I Live In", "Ballad of a Soldier", "Dersu Uzala", "The Ascent", "Come and See", "Scarlet Sails", "Amphibian Man", "White Bim Black Ear", "Trees Grow on the Stones Too" (or "Dragens fange", 1985), "The meeting place can not be changed", "Hamlet"(1964), "Little Tragedies" (1980), "Beg (Run)" (1971), "Two comrades were serving" (1968) and many others...
Modern Russian movies: "Brest Fortress (Fortress of War) (2010)", Zvezda (The Star, 2002), "Brat (Brother, both part) (1997, 2000), Syostry (Sisters) (2002), "The Outskirts" (1998), "Mongol" (2007), "Orda (The Horde)" (2012), "Alive" (2006), "Live" (2012), "Live" (2010), "Major" (2013), "Durak (The fool)" (2014), "Spacewalk" (2017), "Three Seconds" (2017) etc...

Thanks for the video. Your pronunciation is very clear. I understood about 80% of what you said. I got tripped up on the English meaning of a few words, so I listened a second time with English subtitles. :) Всё понятно!

Солнечный удар (Sunstroke)
Was so shocking and so heartbreaking. I actually hyperventilated and cried like never before when watching a film. Fantastic imagery and fantastic videography. Superbly done.

Thanks! Russian movies are what got me interested in learning a bit of Russian, so I enjoy what you say about them. But my skills are still such that I didn't understand everything you said, so will now go back and try the English subtitles.

I am feeling so discouraged that even after studying on my own for about 3 years, I still cannot understand this slow Russian. I am not going to give up, but this really makes me feel that it's unlikely that I will ever be fluent.

I found a fairly new Russian movies that turned out to be very good..like : Неадекватные Люди, А зори здесь тихие, Завтрак у папы, Сталинград and Экипаж...these are highly recommended to watch.
