happy double upload month! i played through control’s main game twice in the past week (yea im aware that’s kinda worrying but trust me im simply hyperfixating), i blacked out and BOOM here was a video. i love jesse. like a lot. i got so attached to her. know that this video is basically a love letter to her and her alone but i think its what she deserves. shes just so cool! and determined! but also stuck in a system and a strange cosmic fate she cant quite control (ha ha)! but she still cares for people!!! so much!!! i love her

so how did this video come about you might not be thinking at all? my household had to endure me endlessly playing the dynamite song as soon as i discovered that it was a real thing that was in the game. i was already endlessly replaying all the dr casper darling (i feel bad stripping him of his title) instructional videos in addition to actively sitting down and calling everyone to come on and watch the funny science man with me so this really just stuck the song in my brain. then i went on a 12 hour flight and wow! turns out you cant watch youtube videos on the plane if youre not paying exorbitant amounts for internet (im being facetious) so i just listened to the original mud version i downloaded from spotify and then i actually blacked out and suddenly i had a script WHEN IM SUPPOSED TO BE WORKING ON MY YOUNG AVENGERS VIDEO

everyone the bureau! i love you!!!! i spent an awful lot of time chatting to them (send all my love to ms emily pope… ma’am you own my heart) and an awful lot of time reading every single document and an awful lot of time watching all the dr darling videos hes so ridiculously charming and silly but i can FEEL the sharp and scientifically objective mind underneath. can u tell that i just really like mad scientists (looks at dr newton geiszler)

you friends at remedy! you all made my favorite game of recent times! thank you so much for the wonderful experience, i cant wait to get to the rest of it. (sidenote: pleaaaase don’t tell me anything about the dlcs i haven’t played through them yet im working through replay #3 because i wanna consume every last bit of this game even if ive already played it.) the gameplay was so smooth and stellar and i learned mechanics organically (this is a weird issue i have with most video games if its not taught to me in a way that makes sense i just get super frustrated and never finish it, even if its something as simple as like. a professor layton puzzle yaknow), i love the world you made, i love the characters that inhabit it. i know ill be thinking about it a lot from now on so happy early anniversary i guess!

also like. i had known of poets of the fall prior to this and liked a couple of their songs here and there but i had NO idea about the creative partnership that existed there and well, my parents watched my jaw drop in both recognition and surprise with the ashtray maze section. good game remedy. good game. i might play alan wake now. dangit.

I didnt really pay attention when I crossed this the first time playing the game. Then I diged deeper and observed/listened and understood/picked up the phone. This is the ending of the game, with jesse barely making it out of the hiss infection. When she desperately reaches the oceanview motel, Darling gets to reach her through the astral plane, wherever he is. He's reaching out, telling Jesse "you go gurl, you've got this, you're effinf dynamite", and *man*, that just hits the feels so, so hard. Darling might have made some/several wrong choices, but through and through his heart attempts to be in the right place. What a hero <3.
