In this video, the radar cross-section is described. The radar cross-section σ (or RCS) is a specific quantity of the reflecting object that depends on many factors. The video discusses the calculation of simple geometric objects and explains why a sphere is used as an isotropic reflector for reference. It also compares simple corner reflectors with airplanes, which are complex reflectors. Additionally, the Swerling cases are briefly described and the differences between Rayleigh and Mie scattering are explained. Finally, a list of typical radar cross-section quantities is provided.
