Myanmar would also make sense. They have a military dictatorship which is quite aligned with China, their ports would also circumwent the Malacca straight, and building an economic corridor with oil and gas pipelines, rails, roads, fiberoptics etc from Yunnan through northern Myanmar to Kyaukphyu port (which is developed by China) would be a lot cheaper and a shorter distance from where most of the Chinese population and industry are located, than to build such economic corridors through the whole of central and western China and then through Pakistan into Gwadar port.

That's the point: a military alliance in the name of economy has little staying power without a political value sharing. We saw that in the uneasy alliance between The URSS and the western powers in WWII: as soon as the reason for sticking together ceased to exist it fell apart in months.

So basically everyone who China wants to ally dont like them that much and everyone who wants to ally China isnt actually worth the hassle... Not really a foundation from which a strong alliance can develop...

Usually when bullies want to form military alliances people sort of have more important things to do right then.

The reason why China won't be able to form a proper military alliance with other countries like Russia, Iran and Pakistan is because they are de facto independent states with complete control over their own foreign policies. The US-European master-vassal relationship works because the US can force countries like France, Germany and the UK to not wage wars (e.g. the Suez canal crisis) while China can't stop Russia from invading Ukraine or Iran from attacking Israel.

It's really two different matters entirely.

Nepal won't enter in a security pact with China. India's influence in Nepal is huge and Nepal is economically dependent on India. Also, US too has influence in ASEAN. So forming security pact with ASEAN nations again won't be easy.
