Now that's what I call a performance! Though Cat Stevens wrote it and did his own version along with Rod the Mod and countless others, for me, its P. P. Arnold who will always own this song.

Her version is the first cut and certainly the deepest! Can't stop listening to it over and over again 😍

For those who don't know, she was one of the backing singers for Ike & Tina Turner duo. They were called the Ikettes. PP Arnold's version of this song along with 'Angel of the morning' were her two hits in the UK. I still have the vinyl copy of her album 'Kafunta' which was also critically well appreciated.

Sitting here with my morning cup of coffee and Little Debbie donut sticks and didn't think my day was going to get any better.

It's nice to sit here listening to this song on loop over and over again and thinking of the past and remembering good times funny times sad times and all the people that were still alive friends and family just gotta keep it pushin and live every day for the dead we once knew/loved

I'm 45 years old and never knew another version of this song besides the one by Sheryl Crow, until I found myself watching British teen drama My Mad Fat Diary on YouTube a few years ago. Fell in love with the show and this version of the song!

She should have had more chart successes with such a great voice.

PP Arnold worked alot with the Small Faces and made several songs together. Yes Rod Stewart did a cover of this year's later but it was PP Arnold was the first.

I saw her at the Seventh National Jazz and Blues Festival in Windsor in 1967, performing this song accompanied by The Nice, later known as Emerson, Lake and Palmer.

Been an oldies fan for decades, so I can't believe I never heard of her or heard this amazing version until today.

Breathtaking.
