Hack to loosen lug nuts without a breaker bar or impact gun

Apparently there’s some people that think this is dangerous. If you think it is then don’t do it. Plain and simple. This hack is used as a last resort. As I state in the description. If you don’t have a breaker bar or impact gun, which you probably won’t have if you need to change your tire on the side of the road.

Ok so as a women my dad doubted that I could change my own tires. I tried everything but the person who did the tires last time screwed in the lugs tights. I did this method and it worked so perfectly! I had a 1/2 impact wrench and that wouldn't even get the lug nuts off. It took me a few minutes to get one off but once I did I was able to get all 10 lug nuts off both tires within 10 minutes. One thing I will say is make sure the wrench is sitting properly in the socket. It wasn't sitting properly in one of the nuts and when I stepped on it it scratched the rim and stripped the outside of the nut a little. Not too much because I could still fit the wrench it it and step on it again to loosen them but just be careful cause it could have really messed up the nut. I luckily had extras so when I put on the new tire I'll replace that nut just to be on the safe side. Thank you for this video I was seriously bout to cry when nothing else would work

It also helps to add more leverage by adding a pipe or some long, but strong tube at the end of the wrench. I'm adding emphaisis on the "strong" part.

Personally, I carry a half inch breaker bar with me in my trunk along with the appropriate socket size for the sole purpose of not having to rely on these tools. I can’t recommend enough that everyone else do the same. Whenever I rotate my tires or have to take them off for anything else, I use it to break them loose too rather than using my impact gun. And if anyone plans to do their own maintenance, I highly recommend buying a kobalt or craftsman click style torque wrench from lowes. They’re roughly $100 but worth every penny when it comes to making sure your lugs are torqued to spec

Used this and it worked! I also discovered if you keep a floor jack with it's crank pole in trunk, the pole can slide over the breaker bar for good leverage.

The only thing is that that might strip it. Using a breaker bar or impact wrench is best. On older cars with rusted lug nuts. Impact wrench will probably strip it

It is dangerous to an extent but it does work especially when the shop you brought your car to last torqued the bolts to hell and back

And to think I've been torch burning them off all these years. Seriously if you have a piece if pipe the extension will provide even more torque

Good until you have to do that in the rain. A four way lug wrench works better. You put your foot on one end and pull with your hand.
