Good to know I can hard cut my ninebark. Seems as though it's conducive to powdery mildew. I am hoping to open it up a bit.

I am glad to see that I can cut my ninebarks back more than a third. It needs a really good haircut. I inherited 2 when we bought our house and I don’t think they have ever been pruned. They don’t flower let alone get very leafy. Probably not in a good spot but also needs some better air flow I think. Worth a try. Wish me luck. 😁

Great information. Last winter, I planted a bareroot amber jubilee that I thought was dead. It started coming up in spring! I also didn’t know how large it might become. Now I think I planted it too close to my fence and I need to move it further away. Is this possible? Would it shock the plant too much? I don’t want to kill this gorgeous, surprise shrub. I would also like to make it more visible, because it’s already a beauty. What can you suggest?
