Cleaning the NINJA FOODI SPLATTER SHIELD with just Water, Baking Soda and Vinegar... Does it Work?!

Let's play... DOES... IT... WORK?!

Today... I am seeing if boiling water, baking soda and vinegar really CAN clean the hard to clean Ninja Foodi Grill splatter shield. I use my Ninja Foodi Grill daily and it has been a GREAT tool on my journey to health. From chicken breasts (and other lean meats) to vegetables to air fried sweet potato fries, it really does it all!!! And the best part? It's virtually smokeless so my smoke detectors get some time off!

So...Does it Work? Watch and find out!

If you haven't heard of this amazing tool before, I highly recommend that you check it out (available direct from NINJA as well as AMAZON and other major retailers).

If you are on the fence about getting one... I cannot recommend it ENOUGH!

I wash my screen after each use .. hot water and Dawn and air dry over night. I do the "deep clean" twice a month... more often if there's a lot of grilling...

Doing this cleaning project right now! I usually clean the screen after every use, but have not felt well in the last few months... so I have let it go. I love my Ninja Foodi Grill.. I've even used it for cooking muffins. Looking forward to a brand new, clean screen. Will update with results later. Thank you! :)

UPDATE... This worked fabulous!! I did it in 2 x 20 min sessions... and the grease and crud brushed off easily with dish soap. The micro pieces trapped between the screens came out easily with a toothpick. Now if I can just find a way to "really" get rid of the sticky grease/grit film that is still attached to the air fry basket and large baking pan! Even after washing with Dawn dish soap and the scrub brush... I can still feel a gritty/sticky film. I hesitate to use baking soda on this for fear of ruining the non stick finish.

I have the XL, I love mine. I use it everyday. I clean it after each use. It looks like new all the time. I use Dawn and hot water. I soak the mesh filter in Dawn hot water, I don’t let it get burnt on grease and food this way. and let it air dry. I found if I clean my ninja foodie grill XL after each use I never have to labor over it. I keep it like new.

Thanks very much! This worked amazingly well! I wash my screen after each use but the baked on grease never truly comes off - until now. It looks like new! I thought of using oven cleaner, but I really don't like using chemicals in our home. We have a small open concept space and it wouldn't be good for us or or dogs to be inhaling unnecessary chemicals when water, vinegar, and baking soda does the trick!

Oven cleaner foam.
Spray it on in the sink. Come back later and just rinse. Cleans the sink too. Do you always scrub or do hand washing with your watch on?

I tried it too and got similar results. My pot was smaller, like yours, which enabled my to use that brush at the top of the screen, while it was in the boiling water. That took off most of the grease, without scrubbing afterwards. I rotated the screen with tongs 3 times, to brush each side and then flipped for the other side.

I usually clean the splatter shield, the grill & the air fryer basket periodically after first removing as much grease, in the dishwasher. Much less hassle.

Just spray the shield with easy off oven cleaner. Come back in the morning and rinse it off. Absolutely no effort and no scrubbing at all.

Looking at the comments now I see you are against chemicals near your food. Why not use the oven cleaner first then drop in your boiling water pot with vinegar to remove chemicals? Still no scrubbing

I soak mine in washing detergent, leave it soak for a few hours. Minimal scrubbing required.

I have so far hand washed the splatter shield and one put it in not boiling water because I dont have a wide enough pan. I'm afraid grease is stuck in between and it just wont get clean. Or I'll have to order another one. My grill is 2 months old

Has anyone tried to take the splatter screen apart? Mine has alot of crud in between the screens that will not come out.

Ninja say to clean in boiled water every other use and put in dishwasher

Try the method another YTer uses to clean her screen. She use Easy Off, and her grill came out closer to new than you and one other person cleaning method recommended by the ninja company.

At 2:15 is that what she said? Just kidding haha. I'm going to try this now. Thanks for the tips!

Why cant I just scrub it with the baking soda and vinegar first then let it soak for awhile in that. Then rinse in hot water and repeat if necessary

Why does the company say to not use oven cleaner? That would be fastest.
