A top of the table title decider gave FC Annan the chance to lift the trophy if they could beat 2nd place and title contenders Queens Bar.
Annan took the lead early on through Chris McMenamin after a mistake from Stuart Walker in the Queens goal. McMenamin made it 2 heading home from a Jimmy Reid free kick. Corrie Henderson cross shot beat Annan keeper Blair as it flew into the top corner to close the gap all this inside the first 20 minutes. Jamie Nixon put Annan 3-1 ahead with a well hit shot from just inside the area that the Queens keeper should have kept it out as it slipped out of his grasp. McMenamin completed his hat trick after some good build up play from Jay Stubbs found him free inside the area and he easily fired home to give Annan a commanding 4-1 lead. Just before the break Ross Brown fired home to close the gap to 4-2. Half time 4-2
The 2nd half was a little more level as Annan seemed to take their foot off the gas and strolled through the half with the only goal coming midway through the half when Jimmy Reid broke free and lobbed keeper Stuart Walker. The final score 5-2 and FC Annan are crowned 2nd division Champions. Queens Bar will now have a battle on for the 2nd place as Park Thistle and Summerhill still have enough games left to snatch 2nd spot.
