Check out the Official Trailer for Eureka starring Viggo Mortensen!

US Release Date: September 20, 2024
Starring: Chiara Mastroianni, Rafi Pitts, Viggo Mortensen
Director: Lisandro Alonso
Synopsis: Traversing time, space and genre, Argentinian filmmaker Lisandro Alonso (Jauja) presents an elliptical meditation on the experiences of indigenous communities across the Americas. Opening in a dusty town of the Old West, reality soon transitions to contemporary South Dakota's Pine Ridge Reservation before finally landing in the jungles of 1970s Brazil. As the triptych unfolds, each temporal and spatial shift provokes metaphysical questions about colonial influence on native peoples and the ever-present tensions between indigeneity and the Western world.

Viggo in an avant-garde spaghetti western wasn’t something I knew I ever wanted so badly. I don’t think I’ve ever been this intrigued by a contemporary arthouse film, looks very promising. Hope it’s script is as strong as its visuals.

Edit: *classic western*

I will say i love how this looks like it was shot in the 80s from the particular lens they used.

I watched it, the whole movie, it's a bit slow, but very mesmerising, and human! It sticks with you, more than Marvel popcorn.

Good trailer, keeps the mystery by keeping it short.

That sequence towards and including the end of the trailer was very beautiful

I'm gonna be honest, I hoped it was just going to be a 40s style western in B&W, but oh well. The western parts look absolutely jaw-dropping gorgeous.

I love the use of different aspect ratios in films. It’s the closest thing to time travel

I don't know why but the last two images (her face and then the bird/movie title) did something with me. The trailer is certainly intriguing, would love to see it, though I don't have a big cinema nearby or use netflix, amazon prime etc.

I'd watch anything with Mortensen in it, frankly, but regarding this trailer specifically, I found it most intriguing (pun intended).

Looks well made, but it would be nice to know what the movie is about.
