▶ The Trial of the Incredible Hulk (1989) - Trailer

After unleashing the Hulk (Lou Ferrigno) to save a woman from two attackers, Dr. David Banner (Bill Bixby) is wrongly incarcerated for a crime he didn't commit. Banner comes to be represented by blind attorney Matt Murdock (Rex Smith), who also moonlights as the costumed crime fighter Daredevil. Through Murdock, Banner learns of Daredevil's war with Wilson Fisk (John Rhys Davies), a powerful East Coast crime lord with machinations of expanding his underworld empire. Assisted by Banner, Daredevil will enter into a showdown with Fisk to topple him before he can become the true kingpin of crime.

The title was so misleading. Devoted fans of the series expected him to stand trial for the death of Elaina Marks. Instead, what did we get? A back door pilot for a daredevil series that never took off.

I'm disappointed we never got that Daredevil series. I know it's almost nothing like the comics and in those days they made up new characters and storylines rather than adapting them so it likely would have been pretty lame but I love superhero shows. I think superheroes on TV have a lot of potential, as this series showed. So it would have at least been another superhero show but this time with a secret identity, supervillains, the whole thing. Would have been cool at least. But now we really are getting a Daredevil series and this time it's a fully-realized comic-based show. Now we're getting the REAL Daredevil series I've been wanting. It was worth the wait but still, it would've been cool to have another superhero show to watch.

They didn't even mention DareDevil, either, for some reason.
