I own the 64 essence MG4 two software updates and now has 100km extra range from when I bought it.

Before I brought my MG4 Essence 64 in October last year after I compared it with the BYD models. In my opinion both are very capable makes and models of EV. The MG4 won because of it's rear wheel drive and faster charging compared to the BYD and have enjoyed smooth, economical EV driving ever since. A trip earlier this year I travelled over 2100 km which cost $225 to charge up on "expensive" public chargers.
For comparison my old ICE Suzuki Swift travelling the same distance would cost over $550 just for fuel, not counting all the other servicing costs. Also the Suzuki felt like "Chitty chitty Bang bang" compare to the EV. There's no going back to the ICE age now.

BEVs and ICEs come both down in prices - but for different reasons.

BEVs because production technology improves and more is getting automated.

ICEs because they are dying.

Evs are still too expensive. Anybody who thinks $50000AUD is cheap. Is dreaming. Small city hatchbacks that the Chinese get. That is what Australia needs.

Good points. Australia should be the market with the cheapest EV prices in the Western world (maybe alongside somewhere like Canada or NZ). The unintentional silver lining of not having a domestic car market and thus no Chineae tariffs, of course.

Now EV OEMs are going after purchase loan costs, lease costs, insurance costs, and fuel vs electric costs.

In Canada model 3 long range still sits at an unchanged, unaffordable $59990. BYD and MG aren't even heard of here. Think I'll move to Australia.
If manufacturers and governments want to encourage EV adoption the purchase cost needs to be seriously slashed, get away from these obscenely HUGE markups.

Here in Spain, MG have 8 years warranty, i uaed to drive Mazdas, I have now a 21 MG ZS EV 44 kWh love it, i will change It, i Hope, for the aptera.
