#Add1Challenge Day 60: Learning Brazilian Portuguese in 90 Days
Показать описание
In this video, I am demonstrating what I have learned so far in the past 60 days of the #Add1Challenge (A1C8), studying Brazilian Portuguese. I didn't start from scratch because I had been learning Portuguese for 1 month before starting the challenge and I also speak Spanish, which is very similar in many ways.
I was going to record myself talking to my Brazilian tutor, but he had problems with his internet and so I just recorded myself talking about two of the articles that I was going to discuss with him. It ended up being over 10 minutes long and I don't feel like doing the English subtitles right now, perhaps in the future. :)
If you would like to make a comment on how I can improve something or point out some grammatical errors or better word choices, please leave a comment below. Thanks!
Here are the articles that I discuss in the video:
The first one (for you English speakers) is about a Brazilian woman who moved to California 4 years ago. In the article, she talks about some of the things she has learned, things she has noticed and some of the difficulties in leaving your home country. The title is provocative because it talks about how Brazilians are better outside of their country, though that is not really what the article is all about; it's just a small point. She says that people have a sort of crowd mentality and in the U.S. the crowd behaves better. The "when in Rome" phenomenon.
Por que os brasileiros são melhores quando estão no exterior do que quando estão no Brasil?
This article is about a recent study that shows that most of the people in large cities fear the Brazilian military police. In the video I am saying that more and more U.S. citizens are becoming afraid of the police here as well.
Maioria da população diz ter medo da Polícia Militar, aponta Datafolha
