The Cost of Ignorance - Amazed by the Quran w/ Nouman Ali Khan

The concept of “jahiliyyah” (ignorance) in the Quran is attributed to
four features in progression, which when combined eventually lead a society to ruin:

1. Thann al jahiliyya (assuming the worst of Allah or other people);
2. Tabbarruj al jahiliyyah (violating the codes of decency by beautifying oneself inappropriately);
3. Himyat al jahiliyyah (making affiliations rooted in an ignorant sense of superiority, tribalism or nationalism); and finally
4.  Hukm al jahiliyyah, ruling the entire society with ignorance.

Salamu aleikum brothers and sisters. It might seem slightly off topic but what I am about to say could well be related to a certain type of ignorance : I just wanted to share my sincere regret that we remain divided in the realm of scholarship/da'wah/knowledge. I, personally, have immensely benefited from Imran Hosein, Nouman Ali Khan, Hamza Yusuf, Abdal-Hakim Murad, Mufti Menk and Omar Suleiman. And yet often you will find people that will attack them without even understanding them. It's become ridiculous. I am tired of these pseudo "sufi"-"salafi" wars, we should really develop a unitarian approach and differ peacefully on some matters. Allah has given us an intellect to think ( things out) ! What's striking me is that you'll find sometimes two scholars/ustadh that, seemingly, follow different methodologies/school of thought saying essentially the same thing. May Allah shower us with his rahma and unites us all despite our enriching differences. Wa assalamu aleikum !
