In this video I want to demonstrate a simple hack I used to stop flooding from heavy rains around my house. Issues with my storm drainage along with some heavy rains caused me some issues over the past few weeks.

This simple hack deflected water away from my house, and it cost me as little as $15, some water and about 5 - 10 minutes to prepare.

Love to know what you think, and if it's something you'd try too - or even any hacks you might have to stop flooding around your home.

You are such a blessing. I am truly hoping that I can find some of the temporary down spout material today. I was evacuated from my home in Northern California a few days ago as we’re having storm second come through and cause flooding. Luckily I did not flood. I am leaving home for a few days and leaving again because we’re having storms that are more intense. I’ll be lucky if I have a home to come home to. Sandbags are placed at doors. I saw your video last night and I’ve been looking all over trying to find something longer than 8 feet. There are things I can order on Amazon or online but I pay to find these today as I only have a couple days before or storms come. I hope I can do this and help save my house receipt for posting this regardless, Lori keep making videos because what you’ve posted it’s just amazing.

"Temporary downpipe". Not everyone has heard of it. They must call it something else here in the US, because I've looked for it online and can't find it. EDIT: I found something like it called "lay flat backwash hose".

You could use thick plastic rubbish bags. Half fill with water, fold the end and zip tie or duct tape, then place inside another bag to protect the taped end and avoid any tears or punctures. Cyclone about to hit New Zealand 🤔
