This is lovely. I've been making a bag with half double crochets and got tired of how the yarn was splitting so I wanted a different stitch to continue with and this is perfect. I got so lucky, I did a row of double crochet and only had to skip one stitch to have a multiple of six around! Thanks for this, I found it at just the right time and it's going to look great, I can already tell 😁

What stitch did you do for your alternative turning chain?

The beginning instructions are a bit unclear. How many starting chains to get the extra two stitches and does the turning chain count as one ? I definitely want to try this and appreciate your tutorial.
