I take my new Jaguar F-Type R to the Grossglockner High Alpine Road in Austria. This is one of the most famous and best roads in the Alps, but one I have never driven so I wake up early to check it out.

Beautiful video! I love this place! I remember coming here when I was 10 years old. The top of the road was covered with snow even in August, and the Glacier ran all the way down. It's kinda sad to see how little of it is left, but what can you do. I can attest that during daytime the road can be really busy, so it's best to go up really early or really late for the sunset.

Stopping so often for photos reminds me of hiking in Yosemite. Just when you thought you have the best view, you hike another 100 yards and it’s better, and then again in another 100 yards. So good.

Having been there the last 3 summers with my SLK, this video, as good as it is (and it is very good) doesn't do it justice. I agree with you, you really have to go there yourself. On a small note: the Edelweißspitze is actually the highest point at 2500+ meters and the Kaiser-Franz-Josefs-Höhe (the place next to the glacier) is slightly lower at 2300+ meters.

Hi Sam, It reminds me of very fond memories as I did exactly the same road with a Jaguar F type R in 2018. What a place! what a car!
