This narrator's facts are all mixed up. Stefon is based on a barista, with a soft voice that lived on "The lower, lower East Side", modeled look after " Party Monster" movie's Macaulay Culkin & NY Club Kids, and Mulaney got the idea from a shit promoter who emailed him about this new club with everything including rooms of broken glass. Jokes were snuck onto cue cards after dress and before air. Bill's signature "Stefon Tee-Pee" was to cover his laugh.
