Cyndi Lauper, live in Tokyo, at Budokan - 1986

Cyndi Lauper quebrou barreiras e abriu caminhos para as mulheres no universo pop rock, antes dominado por homens, um desses feitos foi ter sido a primeira artista internacional a fazer uma série de shows lotados no Japão, em 1986, em uma das turnês mais lucrativas daquele ano.
Aqui vai um desses shows incríveis, no icônico Budokan, em Tóquio, onde, além da Cyndi, também já se apresentaram Beatles, Queen, Kiss, Iron Maiden, Ozzy Osbourne e Carpenters, entre outros grandes nomes.

#CyndiLauper broke barriers and paved the way for women in the pop rock universe, once dominated by men, one of those feats was being the first international artist to do a series of sold out shows in Japan, in 1986, on one of the most profitable tours of that year.
Here goes one of these incredible shows, at the iconic Budokan, in Tokyo, where, in addition to Cyndi, #Beatles, #Queen, #Kiss, #IronMaiden, #OzzyOsbourne and #Carpenters, among other big names, have also performed.

I really had no idea that she was in such awesome physical condition. She dominated that stage and absolutely laid waste to those risers and still had complete control of her breathing and her vocal dynamics. Not to mention, she was a dancing machine. Now I know why she had such great legs.

I’ve seen her twice in the early 2000’s. Once at The House of Blues in New Orleans and once in a casino on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. She sounded awesome. She hadn’t lost any strength in her voice. She didn’t dance as much but still moved a lot. My husband even liked her.
