Earth 2150 also known as Earth 2150: Escape from the Blue Planet is a real-time strategy game, originally published in 2000 by SSI and the Polish developer Reality Pump and a sequel to the largely unknown Earth 2140. It was one of the first commercial full-3D games of its kind. A sequel to Earth 2150, Earth 2160, was published in August 2005. The game also has two stand-alone expansion packs: Earth 2150: The Moon Project, and Earth 2150: Lost Souls.

One of the most underrated RTS games ever. Back in the days it had everything you could wish for. I remember being amazed at snowing effects, that units would turn on lights at night, how customised units could be and the music... oh my, time machine really exists, and it IS this music

This was a birthday gift when I was around 14 and the game must have been just released. I can't describe the feelings...

Seeing someone discovering how to collect resources and how to deliver ammo to their tanks was so amazing
Thank you a lot for letting me remember all of it <3

So many amazing details in this game. Amongst them being terrain modification, tunnels, bridges, custom units, jammers (this blocked the player from issuing commands to their affected units, but the vehicle would continue with its orders), weather effects, vehicle lights that can be could turned on/off, and three very satisfying faction specific super weapons. I also enjoyed the variability of the enemy A.I., which didn't automatically know where you were on the map. Some skirmish rounds it found you quickly, but not always. Skirmish play conditions were also nicely adjustable. Deep tech tree and, once again, those modular customizable units. If you can get it to work, this is an old gem, though mid skirmish saves are suggested.

I grew up with Earth 2160 and discovered 2150 later, but I love this game. A mix of RTS and grand strategy with customizable units, it's one of the best RTS games ever.

The spaceship at 0:42 looks almost exactly like SSV Normandy.

I always wanted to play the game ever since it came out. Back at the time I was fascinated how the units and buildings turn on lights at night and the futuristic setting on Earth. At that time my old computer would not run it. So after 20+ years I finally got to play it and I have to say I'm late to the party. I found the game very tedious to play and clucky to control. Units do whatever they want and barely respond to inputs, sending them to attack makes them do all kind of weird crap like dancing around enemy units without shooting or having a distant artillery unit running up for a punch fight. The terrain is difficult to read and see where the path, terrain, cliffs and hills are. It's all just one big graphical mess with units trying to find their way through.

I finished the campaign as Lunar Corp, so likely the easiest of the 3 factions so thank God I did not have to deal with the construction vehicles, harvesters or tunnels. I think I would have just given up if I had to. I found the camera too close to the ground without the ability to zoom out, something to do with poor compatibility with modern system resolutions, but this video looks much better, I just wasn't able to solve it. The story through emails at the start and end of missions feels cheaps and uninvolved. Mini map is horrible mess, difficult to see anything or even find your units and buildings. And after all the frustrations the game put me through the ending and the video was soooo unsatifying. Thank God I at least mined enough resources throughout the game so I could skip the last two missions entirely. I usually like to try all the faction's campaigns in strategy games, but with this one I'm just going to give it a pass. No doubt at the time when the game came out it was a hit and a technological marvel, but in this day and age it takes a lot of patience to play this.

was this the game where you could build underground tunnels, or am I thinking of something else?
