this dress took about 500 hours to make.and i think it was about 166.5 meters of fabric. it is on display at the royal onterio museum. it is absolutly magnificent in person i only wish i could own this dress

John Galliano's design is just...genius!! I notice the little detail on the black sheer fabric that had little jagged edge... His attention to detail combine with many things make all of his designs very stunning and unique... I'm waiting for your comeback John Galliano!!!

Exquisite refinement doesn't begin to describe the delicate beauty and artistry involved in making a Dior Haute Couture gown.
Few women around the world, they say less than 200? are couture clients. This was spectacular. The seamstresses, pattern makers, embroiderers, fabric houses and the "petit mains" are the unsung stars of this art form.

So beautiful.  I find myself tearing up over couture!  But it's great to see how many people are employed doing wonderful things.  And young people too - I was surprised.  I thought the seam(workers)stresses would all be over 65.  I don't care at all about clothes myself - but I love the beauty and creativity of the process.
