DJ BSYDE grew up on the peripheries of East L.A. County in the mid to late 90's. His uncle, DJ Jessfunk, taught him how to mix in the backyard party style of the time, with a focus on hard house, disco, 80's flashbacks and whatever quinceañera hits were available on wax. By 1998 he debut'd with his own sound system--and he still hadn't graduated high school. Through the years he has provided music and lighting for countless birthdays, weddings, sgv dive bars, Hollywood clubs, kickbacks, scratch battles, cyphers, school dances, karaoke dens...the list goes on. All this to say BSYDE is a mobile deejay warrior. A resident at Boyle Heights' Eastside Luv since 2009. If you've ever spent an evening there chances are you were drinkin, smokin straight west coastin to a BSYDE set.
Hip hop and turntablism are pillars of his style and those techniques are applied here to a series of cumbia records, spanning the sounds profound from Colombia, Mexico, and California.
