Based on my many male dogs over the years... a physical sign that puberty is about to start is when they start to get their adult teeth, in particular, their canines. Timing seems to coincide with a growth spurt and a selective deafness, the "in a minute" reply to the already understood come command. Great video Butch! Sound advice, keep up the good work!

That target on the left, you want to check that rifle! Enjoyed the video, thanks for posting.

The hand in the collar + the twist. Every pitbull owner needs to know that one. It truely does work within seconds. And to answer the trivia question, (mine might be off in left field due to my experience) id say aggression. Typically youll see a sudden change in behavior shortly before even the heat cycle in females or anything like that. Itll happen between 10 and 14 months, but the physical signs appear more like 14-18 months.

Male dogs show signs of puberty when their testicles descend.

Another way to get dogs to release something (and yes this involves the "loaded end") is to take a leash or a belt if someone has one on; and to put it around the dogs neck and lift upwards hard (each hand on a different side of the leash/belt, and cross the sides toward each other so that while you are lifting you are also tightening). The pressure and loss of airway will trigger an instinct to release. It has the same affect as the lift and twist mentioned in the video - but, can be done when no collars are present or if a collar breaks. Also, if a dog is attacking you try your best to shift your weight on top of the dog, and stay on top of it while trying to hold it's upper body (preferably the neck and hand if you can manage to grab hold quick enough before getting tagged too many times) down with all your force as best as you can while yelling for help. If no one is around to help this position may give you the opening to take deadly action if you have any objects with you or if you have to scoot upwards and place all your weight on the chest of the dog.
