I never thought I'd say that somebody could "tear up a mandolin" ... but I am!

Pure genius - Thile can play anything he wants, at any speed.

If you look closely, Michael actually flings his first pick INTO the guitar. Watch closely at 2:35

The name of the song isn't "roll in my sweet baby's arms", it's "rollin' in my sweet baby's arms". "Rollin'"

That's how the pros do it--love it!

Hahah what a moment! Michael, at 2:36, I believe actually dropped his pick (or it was pulled?) INTO his guitar! Then as it dissapeared from view, he panicked and broke a string, with all that pent up energy. Lol!

that second break by thile would make bill monroe proud or possibly jealous. that's how you say something with a mandolin

This is what happens when you feed your bluegrass kids too much sugar!! hawhaw I'm glad tho, that the youth are taking it to a different level and keeping it 'acoustic' and respecting and embellishing what's come before them. Carry on Chris and Mike...you're doing a fine job...

I know a lot of people are against using your fone to record at shows, but i gotta say, to whoever recorded this song? Thank you!

Why has this got so few views? This is incendiary stuff.

Wow. Not sure how many caught the mastery of Michael switching his solo to the bass strings of his guitar (which are harder to play nimbly, by the way), due to the lost string. (Look at expression on Chris' face at 3:27, to get a sense of the impressive mastery of picking that guitar)
