So interesting to hear you talk about your books...I think when you read a book you are never alone! Richard, please never stop doing what you're doing. Please say hi to Julia! There is a multiple volume series (Foxfire) of the old lifeways in the Appalachian Mountains here in the Southern U.S. It contains everything from folklore to how daily farm chores went about.
As for England, amongst several tomes, I have a copy of "The Icknield Way" by Edward Thomas. His walk sparks my adventurous imagination.

Try "The story of the British Isles in 100 places" by Neil Oliver. One of the best books I've ever read. H V Morton wrote many books about England between the Wars and could be describing a different country. And don't forget White's "Natural History of Selborne".

Thank you for showing some of your books. The older books themselves are pieces of history. Love the "Made in England" tag too.

This is great Richard. I’ve now added loads of books to my wish list on Amazon!

I've had to organize my books by size, which allows me to cram a few more books in horizontally. The Plantagenets, volcanoes and architecture don't seem to mind. Thank you for sharing!

I love books and have hundreds of them in my cottage in different rooms. It would be nice to have a room/library dedicated to books but i just don't have the space or a spare room.

Thank you for this beautifully done video. And for making my book shopping list a little longer. I'm very sympathetic to the little rant at the end. I dream of exploring the British Isles some day. I'm a bit worried that I wouldn't find the old England that I would be looking for. Time marches on I guess.

Please keep the impromptu vlog walks going, they are great. Really like the way you (and Julia) interact with people. very good. I think you have something with this. I also like your running commentary and stories the walk prompts. Hope you keep them coming. Asking strangers about what they think makes England for them could also be a good one. You could travel around towns etc. Just a thought.
