Join us on the most quiet game drive in three decades in the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park during Covid 19 lockdown. We had some essential service work to complete in the Northern Cape and also took a day to do a game drive in the Park and film it for our subscribers and the many Kalahari addicts on our channel that want to know if their famous park is still standing. We were one of a total of 9 vehicles in the park and only 4 on the Mata Mata road. Also only the 5th vehicle in over a month to visit Mata Mata camp as a day visitor since the Park opened for day visitors.
Pack your vehicles and start booking as the people are extremely eager to visit the park after the months of lockdown as the Park is opening up for accommodation soon.

Hi Joe, decision made (Covid rules permitting)we are aiming to get to KTP April 2022(avoiding school holidays). I have mapped out a rough route based on 14 nights in the park.Depending on flight times we may stay an extra night outside the park to give us plenty of time get to our first stop -suggested itinerary Nossob 2 nights then Grootkolk 3 nights, Nossob again 2 nights, Mata Mata 3nights and finishing at Ukinaruus 4 nights . Hopefully this gives me a lot of opportunities at the various water holes .I have picked up that quite a few places get booked very early so I will be on the case pretty soon.Keep up the fantastic work .Mark (still in a locked down UK).

This was a lovely treat of seeing my favorite Park in the Lockdown, You had some wonderful sightings and a peaceful drive, don’t think anyone will get to see the Park this quiet, animals seem to be making the best of it. Kgalagadi Lodge seems to be the perfect spot to explore the Park in lock down 👌

Hi Joe, if you stay at the Kalahari lodge outside the park do you need to show proof of address or when you enter the park for day visitors? Would really like to visit the park. I live in Gauteng but work on the mines in the Northern Cape so travel there and back often.
