They have been used in the past to fend wolves, that was ages ago. I had 2 of them nearly 40 years ago. Although agile and with high guarding values, they lost their earlier skills. This is what happens when working dogs become "fashion" one way or another and take part in dog shows. Bottom line, they do not compare to the Aboriginal Caucasian. Just a side note, at rare occasions a dog may beat a wolf, but that doesn't make it a rule. Let's don't forget the wolf is a natural predator, kills to eat and does not depend in any way on humans, while the top guard dog does and have as thier alpha a human. Don't test your dogs....
