Official "Burning Bridges" Lyrics.
Written by Ron Pope.
Three days to Christmas, come home to visit,
Seems like nothin’s changed.
My friends from high school, they wanna know who,
Isn’t dead or in chains.
So we meet for a drink where we always (would) go,
And then band’s too loud, but we’re not that old.
Burning bridges in a nowhere town,
Burning bridges ‘cause we’re stuck her now,
Burning bridges watch ‘em falling down,
If you can’t get lost, get found in a nowhere town.
When we were younger, her father told her,
Don’t you move too fast.
When I would kiss her, man she would shiver,
So scared of taking a chance.
Now she works for the county, got a family to raise
Never thought that she’d end up this way.
Everybody’s got excuses to make,
Everybody’s got a story to change,
Not for nothing but it’s easy to say,
What you would’ve done different if you could’ve escaped…
