We all like saving money, so I'll do my best to show you how to remodel your kitchen on a small budget and also get amazing, cool looking results at the sametime. I'm not necessarily doing this the cheapest way, but for sure an affordable way.

This turned out amazing! I’m in the process of updating the kitchen in my rental right now, with the landlord’s permission of course. I think she’s only allowing it because she knows damn well this place was nasty and should’ve been gutted! If I knew half of what I know now about this house, I NEVER would’ve signed the lease! Apparently the previous tenant was a hoarder and it was INFESTED with rodents! 😠 🤢 We found PILES of animal feces behind the shower access and in a cutout behind the dryer! WTF! So...the cabinets had mouse crap in em and she refused to replace em, so we’ve been sanding, sealing, caulking, and painting them. Next is countertops! The concrete counter looks great in yours and the kits to refinish em can get kinda expensive. Side note: they were actually redoing the floors when I came to see the house and all the materials were piled up in the small galley kitchen, so I wasn’t able to even check out the kitchen that day. My stupid ass should’ve refused to sign the lease until I could really check EVERYTHING out. I guess I trusted that it would be a decent rental because it was USDA and it has MULTIPLE inspections before being rented 🤦🏻‍♀️ Nightmare!

I’m thinking about renovating my kitchen but I don’t want to replace the cabinets, just the doors, install new hardwood over the existing vinyl floor and replace countertop and appliances. Did you run into height issues when reinstalling the stove and dishwasher? For my kitchen, If I install hardwood below the appliances, they might be higher than the counter, due to the increased thickness of the new floor. Any tips or suggestions?

Looks so amazing! You did such a great job. I definitely recommend epoxy counters. Even just over a fresh layer of the concrete. I sponge painted faux stone for mine and they look great. They’ve held up for 1 1/2 years so far

Have you swapped out the actual electrical outlets? Not the covers but the outlets themselves? I few look kind of dingy compared to the covers. Maybe that was intended lol
