Are your stepper motor drivers too hot after modding your Printer to TMC drivers? In this video I'm showing you how to lower the voltage on your TMC2208 stepper motor drivers

Btw you aren’t setting the voltage, voltage is constant based on your psu, you are setting the current, using the voltage u read on the pot as a reference hence it’s called the vref (voltage reference)

You can use the post for the black wire coming to the boards power connector to avoid touching the GND pin of the driver.

This only applies when you're not using uart, in that case, you can define current and voltage is calculated from that, right?

Hi,
thanks for the video!
Are there any advantages if i change the voltage from 0.8 to 1.1?

My motors are running at 65C that is quite hot even at Vref set to 0.8V

If we have 2 motor on Z axis, the current is the same? (and I have auto bed leveling!)

Hi...why it have to be 0.8v if you have auto bed levelling?

Hi,

Do you set the multi meter to the dc or ac volt setting? I'm new to using it!

It would be more clear with a close up of where precisely the multimeter probes go. I can't see where the ground is in the video!

fI notice you test voltage in the screw hole? I thought the vref voltage was that third lower hole in that three-hole arrangement?
