Sir lateral view need caudad angulation 5'to 8 degreee and ur patient vertebral column alignment from back view(lateral) is not parallel to IR.So jt space doesn't open in this view.U don't need MRI scan just change CR angle and support any sponge under pt's waist.

For Disc problems we prefer MRI scan then for what kind of issues x ray can be used sir ?
