We are Survival, the global movement for tribal peoples' rights.

We're the only organization that champions tribal peoples around the world. We help them defend their lives, protect their lands and determine their own futures.

Tribal peoples have developed ways of life that are largely self-sufficient and extraordinarily diverse. Many of the world's staple crops and drugs used in Western medicine originate with them, and have saved millions of lives. Even so, tribal peoples are portrayed as backward and primitive simply because their communal ways are different. Industrialized societies subject them to genocidal violence, slavery and racism so they can steal their lands, resources and labor in the name of 'progress' and 'civilization'.

Our work is preventing the annihilation of tribal peoples. We give them a platform to speak to the world. We investigate atrocities and present evidence to the United Nations and other international forums. We support legal representation. We fund medical and self-help projects. We educate, research, campaign, lobby and protest. And we won't give up until we all have a world where tribal peoples are respected and their human rights protected.

We depend on you. Help us fight one of the most urgent and horrific humanitarian crises of our time.

This isn't about all development projects for goodness sake. Why does everyone have to put a blanket over everything. This is a brilliant video high lighting the worst kind of development. People that have already been brought into this economic system and have lost skills pertaining to gathering resources and creating civilisations need help to sustain themselves once more! We were all like the community depicted in the video at some point.

this video has the right idea behind it, but it's also got a lot of problems. For one, it highly exoticizes cultures of less "developed" nations and is someone idealistic in its depiction of them as living in a kind of utopian society.  While a lot of corporations are certainly not doing a lot to help the situation, they're not the only problem either.

Silly. Those happy people in the forest - when they stop being nomadic and their population starts to grow....start having all the problems the rest of us had to have and deal with.

Cant we just keep them the way they are, that is call indigenous development. Just mind our own urban development.

This animation may as well be shot in black and white because that's exactly how its narrative is enumerated. Western development models have their fair share of flaws, yes, but please bring to my attention any other models that have more rapidly and effectively lifted populations from poverty levels, decreased child mortality rates, and increased standards of living.
