PERFECT WAVES IN ERICEIRA | VON FROTH

Ericeira is the first European World Surfing Reserve for well more than one reason. If seven waves are identified as making up the Reserve, there are at least a dozen more worth riding spread around these seven jewels. For this second episode of Portugal Back-to-Back, Nic Von Rupp teams up with Portuguese World Tour rider, Frederico “Kikas” Morais, and a bunch of other European surfing aces, to tackle some pointbreak bombs during a perfect session at Coxos, before paying a visit to the charming fishing village that in recent years has become the surfing epicenter of the Old Continent.

Love Ericeira, been there 3 times for extended periods. Great waves but still has that old fisherman village vibe. Great food and culture too. When it was big I used to stand on the rocks and watch cave, sometimes 3 spits on 1 wave. Heavy does not even describe it!!! My only complaint is that some of the spots get crowded and quite a lot of localism. I understand if you have a kook from Germany but if you can see a guy can surf, give him some I avoided the really crowded spots and would rather surf waves then be in the water and watch other guys surf waves for 2 hours.

for your short board regular size wave surfing skills and locations to go surf so when I come to Portugal and maybe others, so we know the best places to go surfing, so we can enjoy the beautiful beaches and amazing surfing, get better at surfing....

Thanks for not keeping these beaches and waves a secret so we all can have fun and enjoy different places like Portugal 🇵🇹 around the world when we travel....
