In real life I always imagine it would be hard af for a wasteland settlement to take on a man in power armor, ghouls should break their arms on it, no small arms should pen it, it's kinda OP in a real life setting. The only way I could think of is explosions or leading the user to drop down a giant pit.

If you didn't know, a minigun loaded in 5.56 with a backpack the size of a person empties in about 5 seconds. Also the accuracy and it costs 80$ a second to shoot! And That's why we put them on helicopters.

You can find a snipers nest in Fallout 4 with an anti-material rifle and a dead raider, on his body you find a note that talks about how great the anti-material rifle was compared to the raiders last weapon and that it was blowing heads off of gunners like no other, at the end of the note he writes that he saw a brotherhood vertibird land across the river and with one bullet, he blew right through the BOS Paladins chest armor and killed him instantly.

The fact that most of the weapons in fhe wastelands are small rounds and only small amount of them carry laser/plasma weapons makes the power armor almost invincible.

We usually just shred brotherhood of steel members with ease in game, but lore wise I understand how BOS could take on such huge threats with way less numbers.

N_orte does lore ever go into how the ammunition was carried for the power armor suits? Was there a armored box-like backpack attached, did the power jockey have another guy in the same suit carrying the ammunition for him, or was it some sort of internal feeding system? Also in Fallout 3 I remember the minigun having a ammunition pack attached to the user.

But let's not forget it's biggest weakness. A welding problem in the frame right under the chest plate, which never got fixed in the new models

It'd be kind of badass if one infantry was in a desperate pinch and ran out of power in his suit. But instead of retreating, he used pure strength to carry on his duties while wielding those heavy ass weapons anyway.

Carry weight and bone stress reduction are the main goals of modern powered exoskeletons in military today as well
