Yes, as a gemmologist wannabe, please post more of these helpful videos. I’ll go to school eventually but want to get a head start. 🙏🏻

Good to know! But don't forget about hardness too - since corundum is one of the hardest minerals on Earth, it should be able to scratch just about any other mineral (except diamond).

Great advice, yes, eyes first. I trust the refractometer. Look for hexagonal banding, curves show synthetic. Thanks for sharing.

I wish there were classes for people who do gemstones as hobbies as opposed to professionals that would be awesome but this channel is very very helpful thanks again

I used to have this beautiful oval cut deep blue sapphire ring that my grandmother gave me for my birthday, but the gold band got crushed so I put it in my grandmother’s jewelry box to keep it safe until we could get it fixed, and when that day came it was missing. We never found it 😔

I'd love for you to feature white sapphires as a diamond alternative. Or just do a video on selecting the best diamond alternative for durability and value. So it's for the purpose of enjoying them as jewelry where the same sized diamonds would cost a fortune.

I have no practical use for this knowledge, but I find it fascinating. And Rebecca's a great presenter btw.
