Learn how to crochet the Cable Stitch with Bonnie! This is an intermediate stitch but don't let that keep you from giving it a try! This crocheted cable stitch uses chains, and single crochets to form a beautiful texturized cable. Many designs found on the Bonnie Bay Crochet channel use this lovely stitch.

Thank you for this tutorial. It came in handy. I was trying to follow a written pattern but I could not quite understand what they meant. This has help greatly. Thank you again.😃

Thank you so much for your terrific directions delivered in your self-assured soft voice. After watching your demo, I set about working on the Gaithersburg shawl that contains those stitches, and feel that I can competently make this shawl. The big question of how to handle the NEXT row was answered perfectly as well! Thank you so much!

I recently made one of your hat and scarf duos using this stitch. I found your written pattern very easy to follow and really enjoyed that project. Thank you Bonnie.

Oh my goodness what a treat. I absolutely love the cable stitch (I Knit, crochet an Tunisian Crochet) I like to knit cables but crochet and Tunisian are different and just as much fun. Awhile back you had interview with another of my favorite designers, like yourself. I love you both, you are both Rock star's, in my life. I don't know how I missed this interview, but Wow!! I was so excited. I too, wish Covid 19 was over. I don't like this constant wearing of masks and not being able to socialize is hard on me. I'm an extrovert, I love people. However, in the interview you mentioned that you might be able to show us how to do something from Brenda's Fair Isle Tunisian Crochet Book. "Which I have", Unfortunately for me I learned to Tunisian Crochet on YouTube but don't understand how to read Patterns to well let alone Graphs. You work off both which helps me to pick up reading it. I so want to make Brenda Bourge's "Cora Fair Isle sweater" but anything that you could teach us from that book would be fantastic. You have such a way of teaching. I watch you crochet on this channel because you are so interesting an I find anything about yarn fun but the things you choose to teach us is fantastic. Plus you can take something that might seem complicated, you have away of making it seem simple. So if you can do "The Cora Sweater or even the cowl or anything from Brenda's book I would love to learn from you. Thank You so much for all you do.

Hi Bonnie! 👋 I’m working yet another one of your beautiful patterns, the colourful Afghan, (although I’m doing it on classic cream Aran style) and I’ve gotten to the cable stitch row and after performing this stitch many many times because I’ve made almost all of your blankets afghans and throws and multiple times over, bit this time I decided to try it without turning it backwards....
Now what this does it create a knurl-crab stitch and if you, as you instructed, let it go, and let it be as it will, it takes on quite a lovely look- and this happens to be quite lovely on this cable!!!
I’m sure as a stitch inventor you’ve probably considered and tried this already. Buuuut I figured I’d mention it and if you’ve not tried it see what you think of it. It does have me thinking 🤔 about what if ....
