Health Impact Assessment (HIA) is a tool to help plan and design communities to meet existing needs and anticipate future benefits to public health. For those promoting physical activity, it’s a method to discuss and consider the ease of physical activity when planning or modifying transportation layouts.

This webinar will explore the use of HIA in both rural and urban communities, in New Jersey, North Carolina, and Utah. Learn why HIA can be useful, benefits of conducting HIA, and how to know when HIA is not useful. Examples from communities where HIA has been conducted will illustrate the discussion.
