Brian Pillman doesnt get enough credit for being a cruiserweight pioneer. He was doing high flying stuff rarely seen in America in that era

From Pillman to Minoru Suzuki. From a High-flying Technical match to a ruthless fight. Jushin Liger is a true legend of the business

Such a great match. When I watch Brian Pillman Jr in the ring, it's like watching his dad perform again. Great stuff.

Damn. It’s crazy to think how cruiserweight wrestling of the past is so similar to the mainstream wrestling of today.

Cruiserweights were quite ahead of their time

This is my favorite match ever. Ever. I taped it while watching it on PPV and watched it 50 times afterwards. Jim Ross added so much to it. Not good ol' JR...but Jim Ross.

Pillman was one of my favorite wrestlers of all time. He had it all. Just hate how the out of ring stuff affected him.

Always loved Flyin' Brian, from my hometown of Cincinnati. Great to hear ol' JR on the call. My only memory of Liger is from Starrcade '90 or '91, when Bill Kazmaier picked him up and threw him on to their opponents for the three count.

This style of match would not look out of place in a ring today! To call then pioneers would be an understatement!

Jushin “Thunder” Liger final match is going to take place at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 14.

And to think that this match was in second place to win the 1992 Wrestling Observer Newsletter Award for Match of the Year.

One of my fave matches ever. The perfect way to open that show.

Best match of the entire show, and it was only the first televised PPV bout of the night.

One of the most groundbreaking series of matches in wrestling history that gave way to the style in today’s wrestling industry. Without matches like Liger/Pillman, you don’t have Kenny Omega, Bryan Danielson, Seth Rollins, Jey Uso or Sami Zayn in main events.
