Danm right the dishwasher will always be the drying rack, we children are the dishwasher in every Asian household 🥲

In India, the most common appliance would be a “pressure cooker”.

It’s funny growing up in a black household we only used the dishwasher to dry the dishes and only ran it when we moved in to make sure it worked and to make sure it works throughout the year. Even now in our house we do the same thing. 😂

One of my favorite things to learn about is foreign home designs and gadgets. I’m obsessed with East Asian kitchens and every culture in the world has something unique or handy or comfortable in their homes. Thank you for sharing!!

I actually like the shut off valve for the gas, that seems very smart and a good way to prevent gas leaks.

I am also jealous of the basket handle, my basket is just flat and it can be difficult to pick up if it's wet

I'm an American and I love my rice cooker. It's so versatile. You can do so much with it.

Love the sink strainers in Korea. They work really well, wish my Swedish IKEA sinks had those strainers.

That's pretty smart keeping the washing machine in the kitchen. In case of leaks, it's already in a room that can handle a little water.

They do this in the UK too, but it’s so weird to have a washing machine in the kitchen

Dude, I love that food trap design. It seems so much better than ours that also twists down to be a plug.

I guess it depends on where you are, but I always had a sink strainer in my kitchen sink in the USA. Sometimes it was a strainer/stopper combo piece (which granted aren’t as good) and sometimes just a wire strainer piece. Some areas you do see single sink basins too, ex NY/Jersey, East PA. But I actually prefer double basin sinks because it makes washing up much easier.

Latina living in the US here! The oven is where we store our pots and pans (so we don’t use it too much since it’s such a hassle to take all the stuff out) and if we have a dishwasher at my house we use it to store our linens for the table.
