Possibly your best video yet! That quick cut at 4:27 to smell the book is hilarious and something all readers/collectors can sympathize with. Nothing smells quite like old paper!

I totally agree that comics are to be read, not ONLY collecting

I can't get over how lovely the light is in this video.

Here's a trick for separating the archive tape from the backing. Take two pieces of painters tape place one one each side of edge of your archive repair tape, pull them apart and the backing will peel off easily from the archive repair tape. No sharp nails needed .

I agree with you; I buy comics to read and enjoy. If I want to enjoy it more, and it needs repair, I would repair it. A very wise man once said that "You can't please everyone, so you gotta please yourself."

One of the greatest videos I’ve ever seen. I always tend to repair action figures I get in small or large ways depending what is needed to improve my enjoyment of the collectible. Thank you for putting this so beautifully!

I know just the trick to have the tape regularly JUMP from the protective layer: I put it on that Enchantress drawing from Rob Liefeld. Works every time.

Thanx for this great info...now I look forward to fixing books I have that are "damaged" and will now have readable copies for my collection.

I absolutely agree how quality and TAPE absolutely brings down my reading experience with that comic. When I see the tape its on my mind the whole time I am trying to read what would usually be a great story.. great video man

Very good, informative video. I too have used document repair tape on comics, for the very reasons you mentioned. I've bought some pretty rough books and a bit of repair turns them into something you can read and enjoy...

I agree with his reasoning in the bigger picture of preservation for history and keeping the structural integrity of the book intact.

Really enjoyed this video. I don’t fix comics, but I buy to read and collect my favourites. I also own that complete set of Calvin and Hobbes you have on your shelf

I repaired and strengthened the spine on my Fantastic Four #18. I used archival materials and the repair is not that obvious on casual inspection. I purchased the book about twelve years ago for around ten pounds.

I really enjoyed this comic repair (How You Do It) video. It's straight forward, to the point, and filled with a lot of information. Very well filmed too. Here's my tip about separating the restoration tape from the backing; Lay the backing on a table and scratch your fingernail on the corner of the tape. It comes right up. Take care.

As usual a great video with alot of great points! Im trying to figure out how to fix the old franco-belgian comics where the glue has gone bad and pages are in risk of flying out.

I know this is two years late but here's my question. I just got a Y the last man omnibus at considerably cheaper price(6.2k in India). The question that I have is similar to yours. I love the way the book looks and it's a 1400 page book. Yeah few things are messed up. But really don't want to get rid of it as well given how difficult it is to get comics in India.

Spoken like a true collector I agree with every word you say.
