Social media is such a waste of time. My biggest regret is ever getting social media. Should’ve focused on school and tried to make goals for myself instead of mindlessly scrolling through pictures of people who don’t care about me.

HOW TO INSTANTLY IMPROVE YOUR MENTAL AND EMOTIONAL HEALTH:
1. Delete every social media app off your phone.
2. Login to social media only on a desktop at select days/times, if at all, such as only on weekends.
3. If you can, deactive or delete your social media accounts.
4. Enjoy everything else life has to offer beyond competing for attention, getting into pointless arguments, and scrolling endlessly through mindless content.

when you delete social media you realize quick who you're real friends are

“Every time you pick up the phone, dial a number, write an e-mail, make a purchase, travel on the bus carrying a cell phone, swipe a card somewhere, you leave a trace, and the Government has decided that it's good idea to collect it all, everything, even if you've never been suspected of doing a crime.” - Edward Snowden

"They already know what you're looking at on the internet, they already know where your phone is moving, now they know what your heart rate is. And when you think your phone is off, it’s not off, it’s just pretending to be off. The Government knows everything about you. What happens when they start to intermix these and apply artificial intelligence to them?" ― Edward Snowden

As a country we need a detox from social media. It is not healthy to constantly have other peoples thoughts in your head 24/7.

I think majority of people don't fully quit social media is because the feeling of loneliness or "boredom" (definitely during this pandemic). I feel like we all have definitely seen whos real and whos not. But overall in the conclusion that everyone is living "in their own world".. no one really cares and you cant take it personal. Family and a selected group of close friends is better then anything.. learning to be comfortable alone is peace.

I am a creator (photography/videography/ dj, etc ) but I hate the feeling that instagram gives me.. obviously there's pros & cons. You can "connect" with people/ meet people through it, showcase your brand. But the cons... u stop feeling human, its a mental battle of different things, you compare yourself, everything is filtered, and etc.... if you truly look at the time we spend scrolling & posting & dm'ing and other dumb stuff, we waste so much precious time that could have been used for personal growth.

Moving forward: 2 Questions

Professionally:
How do we artists/creators use social media in a better way? In this day in age are we basically forced to keep our account up? Definitely has a beginner/amateur, if you created a website how could you get user flow going to your website if your not connected?

Socially:
How can you meet new friends "naturally"? This is tough to do especially if you live in the suburbs or small town..

I don’t use Instagram. I don’t use Twitter. I haven’t use Facebook for the past weeks. I use Reddit but just to keep me in the loop. I like to be in the dark, working and keeping my head leveled.

Watched Social Dilemma the other night some deep shit. But makes sense. The fact that there is a team of people who create an algorithm to keep us engaged an algorithm that observes and readjusts daily to keep you interested and addicted. The fact that I can tell u that I profit from your inability to disengage and you either cant comprehend or can and find solace in it is masterful

"We all believe in different realities today because we are all addicted to the media that entertains us while portraying convenient half truths as reality. This is because whether we believe what we see on technological media or not, it entertains us. That is the only purpose it is truly used for, to mine our attention with entertainment. And so, the society where human attention has become a profitable resource is one where the people live in a confused, misinformed, desensitized, and apathetic state of mind. The escape from real life into the endless programmed entertainment is the culture."

Social Media is an amazing thing in increments (like anything else) also whenever I get on Social Media it's for a specific reason.. Not just to pass the "right now moment" but to get something accomplished so I actually feel good when I get on Social Media. Change the reason you do or use something if you can't change what you're using!

I hate the new room. Looks like a modern, sci-fi attic. It looks so small.. I prefer the previous vibe, with more space, joe's personality and you feel free and at home...
