80s and 90s were the best years ever. We were never at home. Always out and about. That was when everything was alive. If only I could turn back the clock

I worked part-time at a video rental store in 1987 and made $10, 000 a year- my private college cost $5200 a year. Life peaked in the 80s.

A friend of mine started working for a hospital laundry in the in the mid 70s and the starting pay was $2.20 an hour. That paid for a two bedroom apartment, food, clothes for him and his wife, and more. In the 80s I’m guessing he probably made $5.00 an hour doing the same job. By the time he retired in 2017 he made more than $16.00 an hour and he couldn’t afford half of what he could afford in the 70s and 80s and when he made a lot less money.

My family was alive, together and thriving. I travel back in my mind to revisit those times often

Nurse here! Those were the best times! Great music, amazing neighbors, friends, and family, and no worrying about all the BS we see on social media. My 3 brothers and I used to play outside from morning until night... when the streetlight came on, we knew it was time to go home. Man, this seriously brought a tear to my eye.... the 80s were the best!!

I miss the 80’s and 90’s. We never knew it until it was over how good life was. 😥😥

I graduated high school in 1985. I graduated from college in May 1990….my FIRST JOB out of college was working for NASA. My salary was $31.200/year!! Looking at these salaries in the 80’s brought back so much memories of me working through college so I didn’t have to get Students Loan!! ❤

I love 80s music. The Brits owned the first half, the U.S. second half, the Aussie's ran the whole decade.

As Gen Z, I want to thank the older generations for inheriting such a golden age of humanity, getting the chance to live through it and enjoy it, then completely driving it into the bloody ground.

We are very appreciative to hear about how easy it was for you guys to get by back then and all the prosperity you enjoyed.

Additionally, we owe you a solemn "Thank you" as we enter the world you guys left for us, and realize we dont have a fucking chance. 😃

I feel like people were happier in the 80’s. It is sad that people reflect more on the past as to better times rather than the present or the future. I hope things get better in our world.
