This week, I'm throwing, trimming, glazing and reduction firing one of these tall lidded jars. There are the largest version of these jars I've made. THANKS for watching and as always, if you have any further questions please do ask.

Wadding recipe: 50% China clay and 50% coarse alumina hydrate, mixed slowly with water until it has a clay like consistency, then wedged and stored in an airtight container.

I might not have mentioned in the past comments that The reason I value your narrated films so much is because I cannot see. I have no vision whatsoever (In that sense of the word!lol).
I experience ceramic art exclusively through my proprioception and tactile senses. Though I cannot fully imagine the shape/form of your pieces I can definitely relate to the process of creating them. You’ve given me a lot of insight and I am very grateful for that.

The sound of the finished lid spinning is delightful, as is your narration. Thanks for the full walk through!

Fantastic film, as ever. I’m always grateful for the narration you provide. I can imagine at times it being a bit tiresome to explain some of the basic terminology as you go. Though I’m sure all who are new to ceramics really appreciate it, and you never know that some of the things that you find commonplace might be totally new to a viewer.
Take myself for example, I haven’t really been taught about the wadding material you placed in between the jar and lid or about the carbon iron sanding paste you mentioned. Thank you!

These videos are so incredibly well made. The in-depth filming and detailed verbal instruction are perfect- equally matching the potter's crafting skill! Love these so much.

The amount of time and effort it takes to not only make these pieces but also film the whole process and put together such a high quality production is honestly incredible. I looked up some basic throwing videos in preparation for an upcoming class my partner and I are taking. I found your channel and now I just start my day off with a cup of coffee and your how-to's. Makes all the garbage in this world go away for a bit. Thanks mate, seriously. Cheers.

I realized so much was rushed in my introduction to pottery. I wish my teachers had more time to show all the steps.

What absolutely beautiful work! You say you'd like to hear if we made it to the end, well I did and I am eagerly awaiting the next!

What a treat to have found this video. Your explanations throughout held my attention lightly but firmly. I had intended to double the speed of the video (which I do for almost everything I watch) but here the cadence was a pleasure in itself.

Thank you for such clear and deliberate explanations, especially about the gas firing process and in all the subtle details most other ceramic artists omit…the fitting of the lid and trimming tips. I watched until the absolute end and learned so much.

Congratulations on your million subscribers! This video as always ( I loved the gallery making! WOW) was fabulous to the end when the kiln door opens and you can hear the pottery sing ( my favorite) I loved seeing the change in the colors and the gorgeous close ups of your glaze ! It inspires me every time! The depth you get is incredible… I also love how you get your lids so smooth they spin! I hope to be able to purchase a piece of any thing of yours one day🤗! Keep up your excellent work! Thank you so much for all you share

I love beginning to end videos, too. I'm just starting to learn, and these videos are by far the most informative educational content that puts into perspective the whole process. Also, it's just so relaxing to watch. Your craftsmanship is undeniable in the quality of the end products, both pot and video.
