If y=1, y^x²+7x+12=1 regardless of the exhibitor. So we replace y=1 in the second equation and we get x=5 so (y=1, x=5). Then if y≠1 x²+7x+12=0 otherwise the first equation wouldnt have real solutions. So we solve the equation x²+7x+12=0 using the quadratic formula: [-b±√(b²-4ac)]/2a, (-7±1)/2 which gives the solutions for x: x=-3, x=-4. We replace x with these two solution in the second equation and we get (x=-3, y=9), (x=-4, y=10). So the solutions for (x, y) are: x=(5, -3, -4), y=(1, 9, 10) respectively.
