In Greek mythology, Eros and Apollo are rivals as well as alike in many ways. Apollo is notorious for seducing women with promises of gifts and love, but often abandoning them and leaving them heartbroken. Eros has only one lover, Psyche, however Eros is responsible for many sexual hijinks involving other gods. Most notably is when Eros and Apollo got into a heated feud over the bow and arrow- Apollo, being the god of archery, viewed Eros's skill with the weapon as lesser, insulting the god profusely and insisting the bow was a powerful weapon "not for little boys". Eros was extremely angered by this, but instead of enacting revenge on Apollo through physical means, he decided to use his powers to break Apollo's heart. Eros fired an arrow into a nymph named Daphne, making her disgusted by all men, and fired another arrow into Apollo, making the god enamored with the nymph. Apollo chased Daphne, trying to reason with her, but Daphne refused his advances. Eventually Daphne reached a river bank and realized she could not outrun the god, so she prayed to the earth to transform her into something Apollo wouldn't be interested in. Daphne turned into a Laurel tree, sacred to Apollo. Apollo wept and cursed Eros, taking a laurel from Daphne's branches and turning it into a crown.

Eros has many other myths where his kind, cute, loving "Cupid" side is called into question. Despite being a god of love, Eros is known for using his powers to punish people, using love as a weapon to harm them.
"Soon, he will eat your heart's like cereals. Sweet lolitas, don't go, you're still young." In this song, Eros and Apollo most likely do not play the part of actual figures the girls are chasing, but rather love itself. Cherry warns the young girls that they are still young, repeating phrases mothers often try to engrain into their daughters: don't chase boys. However, as we know, every night they fall like dominos. The girls still fall victim to Eros, fall victim to love, when they are too young to handle it. Their hearts are always broken, and even though they were heavily warned, they cannot help themselves from chasing love. They always fall victim to Eros, just like Apollo in the myths.

This is such a brilliant song, how many actual pop bangers are warning young girls NOT to have sex with a hot older guy?
The animation is fantastic as well, way ahead of the curve in terms of blending art styles - the 3D looks stylishly retro by now as well, which helps.
