the main reason also due to the referee's issue, many fouls are not whistled. players get upset and complain no fouls call and received the technical fouls( player need to pay the fines), so that is why players shoot the three-pointers more from outside, no more argue with the referees!

So it was Morey who made the Rockets do the small ball strategy because the analytics said 3s are more efficient? I think that strategy has been disproven lol. Why do the amount of points matter? Isn't the goal just to score more points (no matter the amount) than the other team?
