Dexcom readings are higher than finger sticks. The diabetic doctor advised this on registering me to use it.

I keep thinking I'm doing something wrong, but the meter is placed correctly, I'm properly hydrated, and I'm not lying on it. Yet inevitably, my Libre 3 will drop to under 55 in the middle of the night, and the alarm will go off. I'll do a finger stick, which will read from 100-115. It's so frustrating! So far, the only thing Libre 3 is giving me is a lack of sleep!

50 point difference! How is this even close to being a good thing? My Libre 3 says I'm doing great! In the green. Nope...fingerstick is 50 points higher. Any semblence of me feeling like I've accomplished something is squashed here. I'm NOT doing well like I thought. These devices should not exist. Give false hope.

If there's no accuracy or there are serious discrepancies than what good is the meter? Also they say with the sensor you can test as many times as you want. However in my case Im disabled and get a monthly allotment of sensors or strips not both. So for someone in my situation there's too much inaccuracies to justify really using it when you have to use a normal finger meter to keep checking its accuracy. If you have to do that why bother with the sensor in the first place? I rarely get accurate readings or even close. Very much a gimmick.

Meters can be very wrong too! My last one didn’t even give a accurate reading with their own test fluids. I love my libre3 and only use the finger stick to verify occasionally

I've never fully trusted libre or G6. What's funny (and frustrating) is that 'one-touch' finger stick readings are even more inaccurate! Occasionally if I think my G6 on my phone is off, I'll do 3-6 finger-sticks. They often vary up to 10-15 points up or down. I usually pick the one that's closest to what the G6 says and then calibrate.
I had an EDG last summer and my BG was low because I hadn't eaten, as required. The nurses relied on my G6 as a monitor saying it was more accurate than their 'bedside sticks'.
TYVM for the video!

I have several different brand meters and wear a G7 - ALL of them are off of each other by over 20-30. F’n ridiculous.

My Libre 2 is reading 75 with a low glucose alarm. My Freestyle lite is reading 134. I'm going nuts.

Steve just got dexcom with tslim and has been going low with it and dexcom and finger prick aren’t matching I used my finger pricker from GD to test him the dexcom was saying like 70 something but fingerprick said like 43… I have discrepancies between my freestyle libre and finger pricks as well. It feels like all of the prescription based options to use at home all have some level of inaccuracy. 🤔

My cgm is always at least 20 HIGHER than my finger sticks... even when I rescan later to see if after time it “catches up” and matches my earlier finger stick. 🤷🏻‍♀️

The weird thing is in my experience, I can test with my glucometer back-to-back and get I've found the range I'll get a result back in is 20 below to 20 above my actual reading. Which naturally when you're concerned of a drop is terrifying. Perhaps I feel low and test. I get 110. I wait 5 minutes and test again to make sure it's not my body giving me "relative drop" signals over "objective drop" signals (If I come down to normal from high sometimes I feel it too). The result of 5 minutes later might be 80. Panic ensues, sugar "medication" is taken, and 15 minutes later my test result is 130.

My CGM on the other hand is at least consistently wrong, minus the 1/6 or so of sensors that will give strong jumps of as much as 15 at a time before going to back to what it was after that time period is over.

I guess I'm saying all methods suck for me but it's easier to work around a cgm than a traditional glucometer.

Freestyle Libre 3 showed 90 day GMI was 6.3; 90 day A1c showed 6.2. They measure different things. I no longer even use stick test unless I am feeling really "off" and want a "second opinion."
