Did you go to see the head of St Oliver Plunket in Drogheda, or the site of the Battle of the Boyne near Drogheda in 1690, that has reverberations in Ireland to this day, with the 12th of July Orange marches in Northern Ireland. Newgrange near Drogheda has the monolithic monuments and passage graves that are over 5, 000 years old? Nearby are Mellifont Abbey and Monasterboice which are ruined monasteries following English King Henry the 8th's dissolution of the monasteries in the 1500s.
