The people that edited that shutdown message are the ones making a fortune out of IT today.

I think this was back before ACPI was introduced, and PCs back then had physical switches that cut the power to the PSU. (ACPI is basically what allows your PC to shut off by itself, and sleep by itself.)

As a kid born in the 2000s these times were great

Hahaha the Disk Operating System to boot up your computer. The diskette and microfloopy disk...memories of the 90s

Luckily nowadays even if you unplug your computer it won't corrupt your drive due to this new feature in ntfs, ext4, apfs etc that protects against corruption called journaling (also you can also set modern windows to show that message if you want from the group policy editor in windows pro)

We still used typewriters in class !!!

Fashionable Trapper Keepers are the rage

We still love the feeling of twisting our fingers into the wires of our " Rotary Phones". Its not common to having multiple rotary phones at home

I had a computer that ran on Windows 98, and this message was ingrained into my memory as a kid!

This is what I love about youtube shes a breath of fresh air with all the political bs she takes me away back to the 90s a more happier time a simple time a time I miss sooo much and seeing these clips is bitter sweet when I see certain things im reminded of tge people I really loved and adored who are lost in memories il never see again while putting a massive smile on my face. My kids laugh but we knew no different and if I could go back now I'd jump at tve opportunity especially if I could kind of go back with in a way what I know now 😊 Respect and a big hug to my fellow 90s appreciatiors ❤

I love your content! Was born in 82. nostalgia. I remember in computer lab one time with the Matt computers. We were using some kind of paint like program and I took the mouse and scribbled all over it so much and let the button go to where the little spinning wheel never stopped and the lady running the computer lab was furious with me and said that I may have broken the computer.😂

On one of the original TRS-80 systems, we had at my school, I wrote a program that would display everything rotated 90°. Since these computers started with a floppy disk, I placed my program on every floppy disk in my school's computer lab. We only had these computers due to a generous grant from a local business so the teacher was very protective of them.

The teacher knew I had to be the one who did it, but it was worth the detention to see everyone turning their heads to sideways, before calling for help.

It is funny how a lot of people who will watch this were not even born in the 90s...

I installed Doom on all the computers in the typing lab at my High school back in the 90's, thank goodness there was no DRM back then.
